Ambit represented startup AhoyTeam in negotiating a EUR 500,000 venture capital investment from Lighthouse Ventures.
Czech-Slovak startup AhoyTeam secured an investment while its software for automating remote teams’ work was still in early access. The approximately CZK 13 million was intended to fund product development, marketing, and sales. The investor, Lighthouse Ventures, also confirmed its investment on its website.
Automating work for remote teams
Tomáš Jasovský founded AhoyTeam based on his own experience managing remote teams. The software automated daily processes and communicated with users through Slack. Through integrations with tools such as Asana, Jira, and GitHub, it tracked task completion and sent notifications about next steps, giving managers visibility into work progress.
At the time the investment was announced, the product was in early access. Its customers already included the U.S. company Twilio, where marketing and sales teams used it.
Funding product development and sales
CzechCrunch reported on the investment in AhoyTeam on August 6, 2020. The pre-seed round totaled EUR 500,000, approximately CZK 13 million at the time.
According to Forbes Slovensko, the funds were intended for product development, marketing, and sales. CzechCrunch described expanding sales and marketing as the startup’s immediate priority.
From AhoyTeam to community management
In March 2021, the team began developing a new product, AhoyConnect, which built on the original AhoyTeam and focused on the needs of community managers. It brought together data from different platforms to help companies better understand their community members and their activity.
In September 2021, AhoyConnect raised a further USD 3 million from KAYA, Inovo Venture Partners, and Lighthouse Ventures. In August 2023, CzechCrunch reported on Commsor’s acquisition of AhoyConnect.
