Ambit represented Czech startup Lafluence Platform s.r.o. in negotiating a venture capital investment in the millions of CZK from Nextech Ventures.
Lafluence intended to use the funding to improve its online marketplace for commercial partnerships between companies and influencers and to expand into neighboring countries, with expansion planned for early 2019. The funding followed Nextech Ventures’ earlier investment in the startup. The investment was reported by CzechCrunch on November 7, 2018.
A marketplace connecting brands and influencers
Founded by Peter Varga, Lafluence operated an online marketplace that connected influencers with companies for commercial partnerships.
Alongside the marketplace, the team developed a CRM tool for analyzing marketing campaigns, segmenting followers, and further evaluating influencer marketing activity. Startup studio TopMonks described these features in its funding announcement dated November 9, 2018.
Investment in development and international expansion
Nextech Ventures, the investment fund of Josef Matějka, founder of online retailer CZC.cz, had previously invested in Lafluence. The November funding therefore followed its earlier investment in the startup.
Lafluence intended to use the investment funding to further improve the marketplace and expand into neighboring countries. Planned development included more efficient search and tools for managing and evaluating long-term partnerships with influencers. At the time, the company planned to expand into neighboring countries in early 2019.
Later developments at Lafluence
According to a September 2024 report by Médiář, the original marketplace was scheduled to operate only until December of that year. The team was also launching Trendin, a new platform for agencies and brands. A marketing agency continued to operate under the Lafluence brand in Czechia and Slovakia.
In 2020, Ambit represented Lafluence again.
