Ambit represented Czech startup signageOS in negotiations for a CZK 45 million venture capital investment from Reflex Capital.
Czech startup signageOS addresses software and hardware compatibility across digital advertising and information displays from different manufacturers. A CZK 45 million investment from Ondřej Fryc’s Reflex Capital fund was intended to support the development of additional applications and features and expand the range of supported hardware. The investment was announced on July 27, 2020, with the company itself reporting the amount as USD 2 million.
Software for displays from different manufacturers
signageOS was founded by Lukáš Daněk, Stanislav Richter and Michael Žabka. The startup emerged from the Prague-based xPort VŠE accelerator, and Stanislav Richter was its CEO when the investment was announced.
The company addresses software and hardware compatibility in digital signage, which encompasses digital advertising and information displays. Manufacturers use different operating systems and commands. The signageOS platform enables communication across these systems, allowing content management system providers to avoid developing a separate integration for each manufacturer.
The solution also includes remote device management. A single interface allows users to control and monitor displays and other hardware regardless of their location.
Investment to expand the platform and services
According to the signageOS announcement, the funds were intended to support development of additional applications and features and expand the range of supported hardware. The financing was also intended to support the company’s continued growth and the development of services for its partners.
At the time of the investment, the company was already serving customers in North America, the European Union and Japan, according to a contemporaneous CzechCrunch article. Its customers included both content management system providers and hardware manufacturers.
