Ambit represented Presto Ventures as lead investor in negotiations for a EUR 1.5 million venture capital investment in ChoiceQR.
Czech startup ChoiceQR planned to expand the features of its restaurant software, develop integrations with partner systems and build an international sales team to support further international expansion. It raised EUR 1.5 million for these plans, equivalent to nearly CZK 37 million at the time. Presto Ventures led the round, joined by funds Reflex Capital, J&T Ventures, Purple Ventures and the UK’s Seedcamp.
Tools for restaurant operations
ChoiceQR develops software to digitize restaurant operations and communication with guests. It allows operators to manage digital menus, accept orders, organize deliveries, book tables and collect feedback. Guests can also pay using a QR code. The platform includes website creation and integrations with point-of-sale systems.
When the investment was announced, more than 7,500 restaurants across 25 markets used the service. Customers included Modrý zub and Fruitisimo, as well as some Hilton and Marriott hotels.
Capital for development and expansion
The investment was announced in July 2022. The company planned to use the proceeds to develop features and integrations with partner systems and build an international sales team. The funding was also intended to support further international expansion.
The business model was based on monthly subscriptions priced according to the features used. Restaurants paid for the software as a service.
Further funding in 2026
In early 2026, ChoiceQR raised USD 7.1 million in a Series A round. Alea Capital and Smartlink Partners led the round, with Reflex Capital and J&T Ventures also participating.
The company planned to use the new capital to continue its European expansion, including entry into Portugal, Spain and Italy. Ambit represented ChoiceQR in that transaction, as described in our article on ChoiceQR’s Series A.
